Year 6 Hit The Water!

Whilst away on their Residential Visit in Chanthaburi, Year 6 students will have the opportunity to kayak through the mangrove forests that line the coast in the area. In preparation for this exciting experience, over the past two weeks, each class in Year 6 has visited the 50m pool to enjoy an introduction to kayaking session, led by Secondary Outdoor Education Teacher Kieran Clarke. The sessions started with a splash as the children learnt how to safely exit their boat in the event of capsizing. They then learnt how to navigate their vessels in a game of catch the ball, before having a piggy back race across the pool. It was a fun and educational experience for all involved and helped grow the confidence of the children before their Residential Visit.
